- LED Chips: LED light chips are battery powered lights. If you tape them to the bottom of a translucent disc they'll shine through and light up the whole disc.
- Glow in the Dark Discs: Glow plastic is just like any other glow in the dark item you may have had. Charge them with another light source and they'll glow for a while so you can toss them and find them with ease.
- Glow Tape: If you don't have glow discs you can use glow in the dark decals or tape. Use a little or a lot and charge it up before you throw.
- UV (Blacklight) Flashlights: This is your disc in the dark cheat code. UV flashlights will charge your glow discs or tape brighter and more quickly than a regular flashlight. And, if your disc fluoresces under black light you'll be able to find it in the grass from a mile away.

As the days get shorter and the nights come earlier finding your disc in the dark can be next to impossible. But it doesn't need to be. There are lots of options for disc golf in low or no light.
Your first obvious thought, probably, is to bring a flashlight. And you'd be right. A simple flashlight or even your phone will get you a round the course without stumbling on a rock, but the plain white light may not help find your discs as well as you'd think. A UV, or black light, flashlight should be your next and most versatile tool. Some discs are fluorescent, meaning they'll shine super bright under a black light. Think white tshirt in a haunted house or club. Super bright!
Other discs go beyond this and are designed to truly glow in the dark. You can light them up, or 'charge' them, with a regular flashlight but the UV lights will charge them faster and brighter, and the glow will last longer. If your disc isn't made of glow in the dark plastic you can still stick on some glow dots or tape and then charge those up. That way you keep your favorite disc, and don't have to go buy something new JUST for those late rounds.
Another option are LED chips. These thin battery powered LED lights can be taped to the bottom of a translucent discs and they'll shine bright on the fairway or in the rough. I personally turn mine on and off for each throw but you can also turn them on for the round and off at the end.
So whether your round goes too long or you're ready to add some spice, to your disc golf life, light em up and try disc golf at night.
