Centennial Park Disc Golf Course

Centennial Park

Located just South West of 6th and Iowa Street, Centennial Park is one of the older parks in Lawrence with its establishment tracing back to the centennial celebration of the town in 1954. Since then, people have often come for various outside activities.

Disc Golf Park

Nowadays the park features a skatepark and disc golf course alongside a few public gazebos and areas to grill and have a picnic. The course was installed in 1991; originally designed by Chris Breit and was redesigned in 2017 by the KVDGC and the city of Lawrence.

Featuring a main parking lot on the west side where the iconic rocket resides and on the east side (adjacent to Biemers BBQ) this park tract has tee pads and tee signs on each hole. Most disc golfers in Lawrence would probably consider centennial their home course and often call the park “cent.” Centennial has a nice mix of elevation change with many rolling hills as well as a few semi wooded areas which make for some tighter lines with the possibility to air shots out as well.

One of the best courses in the area simply for the variety of shots and how accessible it is for pretty much anyone in Lawrence as it is centrally located in the middle of town. However, due to its popularity, Centennial can get very crowded on weekends and when the weather is nice so keep that in mind. Nonetheless, Cent is a classic Lawrence disc golf course playable all year and anyone interested in disc golf should definitely check it out.
