Bloomington Disc Golf Course

Located outside of Lawrence city limits in the Bloomington Beach Public Use Area and the smaller town of Clinton, Bloomington disc golf course is a challenging pro level tract which features concrete tee pads and tee signs. Installed in 2016 and designed by the Army Corp of Engineers, this course is well worth the short drive (30-45 minute) out of Lawrence and offers an extremely tough but rewarding design with a mix of fairly wooded and a few heavily wooded holes.

Many of the tee shots demand lengthy but precise drives and several of the holes play next to a steep drop off down to a beach, which can be punishing. This would be one that newer players might want to work their way up to and should probably go with someone that has played it before (the potential for lost discs is high). Additionally, checking the layout on U disc to familiarize yourself with the potential pin positions (each hole has 4 potential placements) and checking the condition the course is in, due to mowing constraints, is a great idea to pick a time to play it when the conditions are favorable. However, for intermediate to advanced players this course will offer an exciting challenge to test players ability to limit mistakes and maximize scoring opportunities. Definitely one of the best courses in the nearby area and one that should be on every disc golfers list to play.
